Catania–Fontanarossa Airport or Vincenzo Bellini Airport  - IATA code: CTA - is located 4.3 km (2.6 mi) southwest of Catania. There are several companies connecting the main European towns to Catania with direct flights: Alitalia (Airfrance, KLM, Delta, TAP Portugal), Lufthansa, Easy Jet, Ryanair, Air One, Air Berlin, Air Malta, British Airways, Volotea, Meridiana, Vueling, Iberia, Volare,  Transavia, Air Italy, germanwings, Blu-express.

From the airport to Catania center (pdf)

Catania  airport is 10-15 min by car from downtown.

By taxi

Radio-taxi (+39 095 330966). Call radiotaxi when ready to leave the baggage claim area.  The fare to downtown is between 20 and 25 Euro, depending from the location of your destination, and is communicated at the moment of your call. The taxi picks you up in few minutes on the level of departure (1st floor). Take the escalator at your left after leaving the baggage claim area, then exit on the right and wait for your taxi.

Taxi in the queue at arrival level. You pay according to the taximeter. For Catania downtown it should be between 25-30 euro, depending on the traffic at the different time of the day.

By bus (~40-50 min including dead time)

Take the AMT bus no. 457 (Alibus). It runs every 20 minutes, from 5.30 am to midnight, from the Airport to the Central Railway Station and City Centre. Bus ticket must be bought before boarding the bus, at newsstands or tobacconists, or at the AMT ticket counter located just outside the Arrivals Terminal. A bus ticket costs 1 Euro. Remember to stamp the ticket upon entering the bus.

At the airport we suggest you use the bus stop located outside the old terminal (on your right after the exit), where "Alibus" halts for several minutes.

Where to stop coming by bus from the airport and going to the meeting venue. The yellow line is the route of the Alibus; the dashed red line is the walking path from the bus stop (Borsellino) to the meeting venue (piazza Università).
