SOLAR-C is a next-generation solar observation satellite designed to unveil the mechanisms behind plasma heating in the solar atmosphere and to study the effects of the Sun on the Earth and the solar system through high spatial and temporal resolution spectroscopy in the ultraviolet (UV).

Its onboard telescope, the EUVST (EUV High-throughput Spectroscopic Telescope), is designed to achieve higher sensitivity and resolution than any extreme-UV (EUV) spectrometer previously built.

The mission is led by JAXA and with contributions by NASA and various European space agencies. The launch is scheduled for 2028.
