Vera C. Rubin Observatory is an astronomical facility on top of Cerro Pachón ridge in Chile.

Rubin Observatory (System First Light should be on 2025 January 25th) will conduct a ten-year survey of the Southern Hemisphere sky (referred to as the Legacy Survey of Space and Time, or LSST) with the goal of answering some of scientists’ biggest questions about the Universe.

With an aperture of 8.4m and a large FoV of 9.6 degrees ^ 2, which will observe 20,000 degrees^2 of the sky in six photometric bands approximately 2000 times in ten years. LSST will provide an important contribution in several fields of astrophysical research.
